Make Money With Google AdSense

OK, this is explained quite well on blogger.com, but at the risk of being redundant, I'll just state the basic explanation here of what Google's AdSense program is and what it does (since more than a few people seem to be still confused about it). Before I tell you the simplest way of making money using AdSense, I'll tell you where the money that Google will pay you to set this up, actually comes from!

Google launched its AdSense and AdWords programs pretty recently, and it has been hailed as one of the most dynamic marketing tools ... well, ever! It has certainly provided a boon to online business by providing a relatively easy way to implement ad campaign, to test and monitor ad results, and most important, to easily to rake in more sales to a relevant market.

e-Marketers simply go to www.google.com/adwords/, register an account and write their ads. For those living under a rock since having gone online, Google ads are those little ad boxes that show up on the right side of Google search results, and that show up in various other places on webpages (like this one!) The advertiser bids on the keywords that most directly applies to what the site is about or is selling. Advertisers bid for these keywords on a 'cost per click' basis -- meaning, the advertiser has to pay Google a certain amount of money every time someone clicks on the ad. Bidding for the best keywords places the advertisement near the top of the listings and thus more likely to be clicked by searchers of the advertiser's product -- important, since very few people ever go past page 1 or 2 of a listing of results (when was the last time YOU went through all 15 pages of Google search results?) These costs can be between $0.03 to as high as $15 per keyword or keyword phrase.

For example, I'm advertising my web site, 'Net Enterprise'. After researching, I find out that hot keywords -- the terms that people searching the net for my product and/or info -- are "online income", "emarketing" and "internet cash." So I would go to Google AdWords, write a nifty little ad describing my site's content, and bid on these keyword phrases. It benefits me, since people looking for these specific phrases or keywords will most likely want to see what I have to offer, and purchase from me.

So, having said all that, Google provides a very attractive incentive for users to increase traffic for these advertisers, who in turn will pay Google more money for more ads. All anyone with a website has to do, is insert a special piece of HTML code into your web page -- which Google provides at www.google.com/adsense/ after you create an account there, FOR FREE. The Google 'robot' determines what your page is about, and puts those same little ads where you want them to go on your page. These ads are content-specific, meaning that Google will not put advertisements for fly-fishing equipment on a web page about cars. The ads are always relative to the site content.

Once the ads are up, Google now pays YOU every time people clicks on the ads. It's really that simple, but of course, there are rules. Since advertisers are spending money on what is SUPPOSED to be traffic-building and thus sales-generating ads, Google is VERY strict on what it deems abuse of the AdSense program. You can't simply click 100 times a day on ads on your own site. There are actually cases of organized online criminals/scammers who simply throw up empty/irrelevant web pages with a group of others, and they simply click on the ads on each others' sites all day, through automatic programs or manually. You are not allowed to publicly discuss how much you make from AdSense on your site. And you obviously cannot use your site to thwart others in any way from benefiting from AdSense. There are a number of other restrictions, but these are among the biggest offences. If you get caught, your account is terminated, and you'll have to do a lot of explaining to Google to get another one!!! So be careful!

But overall, taking advantage of Google AdSense is boobytrap-free, and you're doing a great service for online entrepreneurs by helping in their advertising efforts. And it can be done in a VERY short period of time!

Take this blog, for example. blogger.com allows you to set up your own webpage quickly and for FREE. This is how you do it, step by step:

1. Create an account here, at www.blogger.com.

2. Post articles on your product/service if you are a business, your passion in life if you're a hobbyist or any other kind of information that you have good knowledge about. Please keep in mind that articles that you may want to simply cut-and-paste on your blog may be copywritten, so always obtain permission to re-print them; otherwise, don't use them (a lawsuit isn't a great way to start your new online enterprise!)

3. Go to www.google.com/adsense/ and create an account there. Google just released its BETA version of an electronic transfer of funds; they used to only issue physical checks monthly in the mail, and only if you made over $100 for that period's month. Now, the 'direct deposit' likely will pay more frequently, and without having a minimum amount. Just complete the form with your banking info (your transit, bank and account numbers.)

4. On the AdSense site, in the 'Ad Layout' section, you can select how you want the ads to appear on your page. Click on the desired layout, and at the bottom of the page, you'll see the HTML code that will provide those ads in your selected layout. Simply copy the chunk of code in the box. Then ...

5. Go back to your blog on blogger.com. If you've already exited the site, enter your user name and password, and click on your blog. The screen that pops up will have some tabs at the top, including one that says "Template." Click on it.

6. Insert the Google AdSense HTML code into the page's code. My suggestion is at the top of the screen for the best visibility, although on the side is a good place too.

7. Figure out ways you can draw traffic to your site. Chat rooms and message boards relating to your subject matter are good bets; however, make sure it IS relevant to that audience, and resist the urge to SPAM!!! You can really annoy people who otherwise would have checked you out with a more tasteful, directly-targeted approach, and besides, site-spammers rarely get the increased business they think they will with a messy campaign like that!

That's basically it!

You can check if you've made any money by checking into your AdSense account info. The first time I experimented with it using my blogger.com-created blog, I had a very general site that contained different categories of information and opinion (which makes it harder for the Google 'bot to scan and figure out which ads to put on), and I didn't promote it at all. In December, I made $0.14 from it! That's when I realized that with more targeted and fleshed-out information and products on my web site, as well as plugging the site as much as possible to interested parties, I could vastly increase traffic to the site, and generate real income doing it through the AdSense ads!

So, follow these instructions, and invest in fantastic courses like Corey Rudl's "The 'Insider Secrets' To Marketing Your Business On The Internet' course, which covers all this plus a tonne of other basic information, plus case studies, and how have a market for your business EVEN BEFORE YOU START TO SELL ANYTHING! This guy clears almost $6 million A YEAR through online marketing ALONE! One of his flagship products is still his first product, a book called "Car Secrets Revealed." He still makes a huge chunk of income online through sales of that book, and HE HASN'T EVEN LOOKED AT ITS WEBSITE IN YEARS! I can honestly say that Rudl's course was the best $197 dollars I've probably ever spent! (And if you think this AdSense stuff is 'off the hook', the course shows you OTHER methods of making VAST AMOUNTS OF INCOME ONLINE, no matter WHAT you sell!)
